If you have one day, take a boat trip. The full-day sea excursions to Orange Bay and Giftun Island are the reason most people come to Hurghada, and they give you two or three snorkelling stops on genuine coral reef, lunch on board, and time on the sandbank. Dolphin House is the trip to pick if seeing wild dolphins matters more to you than beach time — sightings are common but never guaranteed, and we would rather say so.
If you have two days, spend the second one in the desert. The safari combines quad biking, a jeep ride over the dunes, a Bedouin village stop and dinner under a sky with no light pollution.
